I'm off again, this time to take pictures on a Jazz festival in Crest (website here).
So I have to find a mean to continue the posting while I'm away. But don't worry, I'll find something!

Yes, this was simply a door, that can be found on Montorge Street.

Can you tell me what this is?

Strange things happen sometimes!
I found them yesterday on the Grand Rue, a street on the city centre. They were on display in the window of a piercing shop. Someone interested?!

La Bastille, the fortified hill at the entrance of the town, becaus yes, I'm back in town! But not for long... again ;-)

BTW, thank you all for your comments when I was on holidays, I was happy to read them all yesterday.

A lavander field on the hill just above the house I've been spending my holidays for years now (in fact this is my "second home").

Another night shot. I hope you're enjoying them and you're not too disapointed to be far from Grenoble for a few days!!

A sparkling summer in the Diois (part of the Rhône-Alpes region)! I called this postcard like this because the Diois is where the Clairette is produced. And the Clairette is a kind of sparkling wine.

So yes I'm off for a few days in Die (well, I know this name can sound funny for some of you), a charming little city in the Drôme.
I will therefore not be able to post until next Friday as I won't have Internet access over there. So you'll be treated to 7 photos today. I've decided to take you on holiday with me. So you won't see much about Grenoble but mostly about Die.
And don't forget to let me know how you find the town!
See you next friday.

I'm back in Grenoble for two days of hard work (thursday and friday) and then off again, this time for 5 days of real holidays, yeah!

So here is my second ugly postcard, from my hometown. Well the snowflakes are not accurate at the time being as it's burning hot here!

For those who like kitsch poscards, the worst is yet to come (don't forget to check the blog again tomorrow...)!

PS : new photo on my Orange qui Saigne blog.

As I am currently on holidays (well more or less...), I've decided to have a good laugh with you by illustrating in a funny way the different places I've visited or will visit in the past and forthcoming days.
As I always find poscards quite ugly and very kitsch, I've decided to present you my very own collection of fake ridiculous summer holiday poscards!

Welcome to Bad Taste land (or "how to turn ordinary pictures into the world ugliest poscards!).

First in a series : Aix-les-Bains.

This bird is a Great Crested Grebe (la descritpion en français, c'est par ici). I found him on the lake I showed you yesterday. He was peacefully crusing between the boats! As he is an excellent diver, he regularly disapeared under water to find fresh fish!
I think it was a male because of its bright colors.

Here is a picture from le Lac du Bourget taken in Aix-les-Bains (75 kms from Grenoble), the little town were I enjoyed my Monday.

Today is the last stage in the Alps for the Tour de France 2007, from Val d'Isère to Briançon. Unfortunatly this year, there is no arrival at l'Alpe d'Huez, which is maybe the most famous spot in the tour de France (and usually one of the most difficult stages).

These days the Tour de France is in the Alps. As I am quite interested in cycling I couldn't forget to post something about it!
I took this photo during winter time in l'Alpe d'Huez, that's why you can see snow in the background!

Today, July 14th, it's Bastille, the French national holiday (Fête Nationale).
It commemorates the 1790 Fête de la Fédération, held on the first anniversary of the storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789 ; the storming of the Bastille was seen as a symbol of the uprising of the modern French "nation", and of the reconciliation of all the French inside the constitutional monarchy which preceded the First Republic, during the French Revolution (From Wikipedia).

I'm back from 3 exhausting days in Paris, so here is a peaceful night view from Grenoble! Tonight I'm going to Aix-les-Bains to see Muse live. After that I'm going to spend a few days in Savoie, so you'll may be treated to some views from my days off in the country instead of Grenoble's city life!
Enjoy your weekend and/or your holidays!

If you turn your head up somwhere in the city centre (right in front of the Place Victor Hugo) you will see this surprising creature on a rooftop. I bet many inhabitants haven't even noticed it!

Today is theme day. So here is quite an old photo from a local band called Doei (I'm sorry about the poor quality of the photo but red lights are really the worst concert lights!).
To put it in a nutshell, we can say that
Doei plays electro music. But in reality, it's more complicated than that, and they are quite original! Don't hesitate to check their website to listen to their songs (and don't worry it's far more calm than what I usually listen to!).

Don't forget to check the other cities participating in this month theme day.
