Football chat

Less poetic than usual, this shot is an illustration of a very touchy subject in Grenoble : the building of a new stadium.
We don't have a great football team and yet we're going to have a huge and very modern stadium (over 20 000 seats).
Some people think it's a good idea, some other think it's just wasted money.
For my part, I don't know whether it's good or bad, but I can tell you that it keeps people chatting endlessly (as were doing the men when I took the picture)!

If you 're interrested on the subject you can click here to have more details (it's in French).

Like the way you framed the cranes. Like the action of conversation you were able to capture.

Things are kind of the same all over. We have a huge argument going on here about whether or not to build a new baseball stadium downtown or refurbish the existing one. Some say waste, some say needed.

one can never argue with a football fan. the bigger the stadium, the bigger the crowd of fans I guess.well, nevermind that. your shot is fantastic.

well... this future stadium will be useful to give live performances too, uh?

It looks to be an excellent stadium and the construction also creates employment as well as conversation. It must be very nice to be in Grenoble at the advent of Printemps.

dsole> yes it's supposed to be used for live performances too. But I think what we need for live performances in Grenoble is a real nice little venue (and not a huge one such as stadium or sport hall). There is a real shortage of venues here.
