L'émigration italienne / Italian emigration.

As some of you probably know it, Grenoble has a great Italian community. So when I found this book in the window display of a secondhand bookseller I thought it would be a good illustration of this fact.

A great find to illustrate the Italian emigration.

Loin, très loin des clichés, il y a un fort héritage de cette immigration à grenoble : sur les quais, des pizzerias s'étalent sur plusieurs centaines de mètres.

Yes, a lot of italians live along the Isere river, just by the city center in Grenoble. Anyway these people are not real italians. They were born in France, and often their parents were born in France too. So they don't speak italian at all and they no more remember what the italian culture is like and how to make a good pizza. I tried tasting many pizzas in Grenoble and I was always utterly deceived...
