I found these little signs (saying "fall on prices") amusing because, as you may know, there is a big controversy on food prices here in France at the moment. According to the latest official statistics, French retail food prices (excluding fresh products) rose 2.8% year-on-year in January (highest hike since May, 1992). And it has been said by our prime minister, François Fillon, that retailers were taking advantage of the rises of agricultural produce prices and expanded their profit margin.
So an investigation have been launched by the Fair Trading, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control (DGCCRF) into food prices rise in 6 french retail chains.
