Second name of Grenoble.

If you look carefully, you'll read a different name in the centre of this photo : Gratianopolis.
This is the name which was given to Grenoble in 380, when the Roman emperor Gratien came and improved the walls surrounding the city.

As I told under the "cucumber" (thanks for the info) photo, I was too curious so I looked for the name which would follow. Now you "proved" it. A fantastic idea to show these - almost -- identical photos, so nicely framed!
